Bio
I’m Dr. Olga Soto, an Adjunct Faculty in Biology at Copper Mountain College, teaching online Anatomy and Physiology. My teaching approach is mainly rooted in inclusivity, adaptability, and real-world application. Drawing from my experiences as a non-native English-speaking scientist and educator, I try to create a supportive learning environment that empowers all students to engage with biological concepts. My goal is to inspire critical thinking, and lifelong learning through accessible, student-centered instruction.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is holistic and student-centered, focusing on inclusivity, adaptability, and engagement. I prefer creative online learning experiences (from role-playing as endocrine glands to imagining the journey of a red blood cell) to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and active participation in an online environment. By prioritizing accessibility, open communication, and a supportive environment, I aim to help students grow as independent and lifelong learners.
